As part of their new corporate strategy, the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) were aspiring to be ‘a high-performing organisation with skilled people connected by shared purpose’. The reality was that their existing culture was not keeping pace with that aspiration. There was a clear need to develop a strong culture of feedback, and to use this as a mechanism for organisational growth and performance.
The IPO’s Board in particular recognised the need to role model these behaviours despite pockets of deep-rooted resistance amongst the group and an ingrained culture of avoiding honest and direct conversations regarding performance at senior levels.
We designed and delivered a 1-day ‘Feedback for Growth’ workshop to all senior leaders, inclusing the Board. The session was designed to build the right mindset and skillset to receive and deliver feedback effectively. Session content included:
"Hands down, the best training course I've ever been on"
"As this was an all day course, I was dreading it - I find it very difficult to maintain focus for long periods of time (and there is nothing worse than sitting for hours in a stuffy room, struggling to stay awake!). But wow! This course was AMAZING (capitals were very well-deserved!). It was structured, engaging, the trainers were caring, funny and I genuinely did not notice the time going. I've recommended it to my whole team"
