The Challenge

Prison Service, National Probation Service, and Youth Justice Board (NOMS) was looking to develop a leadership programme that continue towards greater minority group representation in senior positions across the organisations. The aim was to:

  • Develop BAME and disabled senior managers to reach top-tier positions
  • Equip participants with the leadership and business skills needed for success at senior levels
  • Foster an inclusive, innovative, and vibrant organisational culture across the sector

The Solution

We designed a two-year bespoke leadership programme focused on increasing self-awareness and developing the key leadership skills that would meet both personal and organisational goals. The programme included:

  • A competency-based assessment centre to identify senior leadership potential
  • 360-degree feedback
  • Self assessment (Personal Evaluation Tool (PET))
  • Psychometric profiling (Myers Briggs Type Indicator)
  • 1-day induction
  • 5 x 2-day residential modules
  • 3 x 1-day masterclasses
  • Action Learning Set
  • 1-to-1 coaching
  • Strategic consultancy projects
  • Sef directed learning (including a 21-day challenge, developing personal portfolios, and a 3-month work placement)
  • Final presentations to senior stakeholders
