While you’re planning the summer…
For many of us, summer means colour-coded calendars, holiday logistics, childcare arrangements, emergency snack supplies and a level of diary management that would impress an air traffic controller.
We invest hours planning six weeks ahead because we know that without a plan, things quickly become stressful, reactive and, let’s be honest, slightly resembling organised chaos.
Yet when it comes to careers, many of us are navigating change, uncertainty and opportunity with no real roadmap at all. We wouldn’t send the family on holiday without knowing where we’re going (or at least where we’ve parked the car), but many employees are expected to navigate their careers with little time, support or direction.
The world of work continues to evolve rapidly. New skills are emerging, career paths are becoming less linear, and people increasingly need the confidence and capability to actively manage their own development rather than waiting for opportunities to appear.
Recent research suggests that career progression remains people’s number one motivation for learning and development, whilst organisations that actively invest in career development are significantly more likely to report positive business outcomes and stronger talent retention. Only 36% of organisations are considered “career development champions”, yet those organisations consistently outperform others on measures of business success. (LinkedIn Workplace Learning Report 2025)
At the same time, many managers still lack the confidence and skills to have meaningful career development conversations with their teams, despite the impact these discussions can have on engagement, retention and internal mobility. (Forbes; Right Management)
That’s why we’ve developed a suite of practical, engaging career development workshops designed to help individuals take ownership of their careers and equip managers to support them.
The wider research backs this up: 33% of UK employees say they’re unlikely to fulfil their career aspirations in their current organisation (CIPD). 80% of professionals say networking is vital to career success, yet only 39% of UK workers say it’s actually landed them an opportunity (money.co.uk survey). And 65% of UK workers now want a job that gives them a genuine sense of purpose (StandOut CV).
Here’s what our learners had to say…
“This is the second course I’ve done with Berkshire Consultancy, and both have been fantastic. Really informative, well facilitated, well-paced, good mix of learning styles, and knowledgeable course leaders, adapting to the input and group dynamics – thank you”Effective Networking for Career Success
“The course facilitators were engaging and helped to make the session a relaxed and open session in which I felt safe to share with people I did not previously know.”Foundations of Career Planning
Just as successful holidays don’t happen by accident, neither do successful careers.
When organisations create space for meaningful career development conversations, they strengthen engagement, build capability from within and help people see a future for themselves in the organisation.
And whilst we can’t help your employees decide whose turn it is to pack the suncream, we can help them build the confidence, clarity and connections they need to navigate their career journey.
